In other news, my computer screen died on me last week. Had it for only about 4 years, so I was a bit dissapointed, but well. The backlights were still ok, so I decided not to try to repair the thing myself and buy a new screen. Which was planned anyway.
After spending a few hours researching and comparing, I decided myself on buying the Samsung SyncMaster PX2370 for approx. 200Euros.
No complaints so far, except that the brighntess was waaaay to high. Since i usually work on my personal compter mostly in the evening / at night, I needed to reduce the factory setting of the brightness from about 70 to 10!
Videos are nice, “office work” is no issue (ah finally a wide screen at home, where I can fully see my code *and* the project running, without one window overlapping the other).
I haven’t checked games yet, but I’ve trried a few demos from the demoscene, and I could not spot any annoying remanace glitch.
